I intercepted a discard bin of several thousand slides from the art history and archaeology departments and chose around 400 of the most striking, iconic, beautiful, absurd, and unusual. Viewers were invited to look at these images via a slide projector mounted sideways on a podium in the center of a dim room. When they chose to see a new slide they had to eject the previous one, which then fell—and slowly sank—into a bowl of thick black paint.
